JIRA ALERTS

Zebrium Incidents and Alerts can be integrated with Jira Cloud using Zapier.

This one-way integration will create a Jira Issue (e.g. Bug, Story, etc.) when a Zebrium Incident RCA or a Zebrium Alert is created.

HOW TO CREATE A JIRA ISSUE FROM A ZEBRIUM INCIDENT RCA

To create an Integration with Jira Cloud in Zapier

  1. Login to your Zapier account.
  2. Click on MAKE A ZAP
  3. Enter and approprite name (e.g. Create Jira Issue from Zebrium Incident) at the top of the screen where it says Name your zap
  4. Select Webhook as the Trigger (this is a Premium feature).
  5. Select Catch Hook as the Trigger Event.
  6. From the Setup a Trigger page, copy and save the Custom webhook URL which will be used when you "create an outbound alert for Jira" in Zebrium.
    • No other settings are required on this page.
  7. To Test your trigger:
    • Save this file to your local system (e.g. /tmp/sample_incident_payload.json) sample_incident_payload.json.
    • Use the curl command to send a Sample Incident Payload to Zapier. This will be used later for configuring Zebrium-to-Jira field mappings. Substitute CUSTOM_WEBHOOK_URL with the Custom webhook URL from step 5 above.
    • curl -X POST --data @/tmp/sample_incident_payload.json CUSTOM_WEBHOOK_URL
    • Click on Test Trigger in Zapier. It should indicate We found a request! and display the sample incident payload.
  8. Click Continue to configure your Action.
  9. Select Jira Software Cloud as your App.
  10. Select Create Issue as the Action Event.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Choose your Jira account and login as directed.
  13. Click Continue.
  14. Select the appropriate Jira Project.
  15. Select the appropriate Jira Issue Type (Bug, Story, etc.).
  16. Use the Insert Data picker to map any fields from the Sample Incident Payload to the Jira fields (you must complete all required fields).
  17. Click Continue.
  18. Click Test and Continue.
  19. Click Turn ZAP on when you have completed.

To create an outbound alert for Jira in Zebrium

  1. From the User menu area, select the Account Settings gear icon.
  2. Click the Outbound Alerts menu item.
  3. Click the Create Outbound Alert button.
  4. Select Webhook as the Outbound Alert Type.
  5. Enter a Name that you will use to refer to this integration when linking it to Incident Types (e.g. Send Incidents to Jira using Zapier).
  6. Select zebrium_incident only from the Include Payloads multi-select drop-down.
  7. Set the Choose Deployment option to the desired deployment names or All.
    • Note: This option will not be displayed if you have only one deployment.
  8. Enter the URL of your Jira Cloud ZAP webhook created above.
  9. Select NONE as the Authentication method.
  10. Click Create to save your outgoing webhook definition.

HOW TO CREATE A JIRA ISSUE FROM A ZEBRIUM ALERT
